Berta Hehl Carter, age 98 (1923-2021), entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, 10 November 2021. She was born in Illerberg, Bavaria, Germany. After completion of her business education, she opened and operated a "Weinstube" in Ulm. In 1954, she married Captain Roy A. Carter, Jr., and subsequently supported her husband throughout his military career while creating a loving and nurturing home for her family wherever the U.S. Army sent them. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, beloved daughter Angela Rose, mother and father Johannes and Salome Hehl, and sisters Krezencia Hehl and Agnes Stegman. She is survived by her dedicated son Roy, daughter Sally, and granddaughters Rose, Stefanie, and Angela.
A Funeral Mass will be held on 13 December 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery immediately following.
