Benito D. Mata Sr.

Benito D. Mata Sr., born on July 11, 1923 in Beeville Tx. was called to be with The Lord on February 3, 2021 at the age of 97. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sostenes Mata and Guadalupe Diaz Mata; wife, Emilia Mata; sons, Benito Mata Jr., and Steve Mata; daughters, Rosa Ruiz, Maria Isabel Mata and Dolores Mata. He is survived by his son, David M. Mata; grandchildren, Robert Herrera, Cathy Ruiz, Gilbert Aguillon, Loree Vargas, Lisa Espinoza, Steve Mata Jr., Valerie Mata and Roger Buentello; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cruz Mauricio.

The Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, only 50 guests will be allowed in the funeral home chapel.

Facial coverings are required to be worn at all times while in the building.
