Known as “Mando” to all those who loved him and knew him best, he was born on October 5, 1966. He is the 11th Child out of 13 siblings.
He is proceeded in death by his father Francisco Matta, Jr., brother Ruben Colunga, And sister Mary Alvarez. He is survived by his mother Florinda Matta, Sons: Rey, Anthony, Francisco and daughter Kayla. Brother Oscar Mata. Sisters: Isabella Gomez, Gregoria Tobias, Blanca Arredondo, Rosalinda Gonzalez, Diana Gonzalez, Irma Alvarez, Melinda Alvarez, Rebecca Hernandez and Darline Matta. Sister in law, numerous brothers in law and countless nephews and nieces.
Armando served as a fire fighter in the United States Navy. He was a gentle soul, always laughing… but he had a mischievous side. He was a big prankster, never missed an opportunity to play pranks and jokes on everyone and anyone. He had a very loud and boisterous laugh that would hurt your ears. He loved playing pool, bbqing and listening to music.. especially country music.
Although his time in this world with us was short, he made a big and lengthily impact on his family and friend’s lives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5:00PM till 9:00PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00PM at the Trevino Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. Prayer service will be on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Trevino Funeral Home at 12:00PM with interment to follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
