Ana Maria Tapia

Ana Maria was born on July 24, 1935 to Guadalupe and Concepcion Tapia in San Antonio, Texas. She was the third of seven children. Ana Maria graduated from Fox Tech High School as a member of the National Honor Society.

Ana Maria worked for Kelly Air Force Base for over 33 years and retired at the age of 55. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church for many years as a Eucharistic Minister who would deliver communion to the homes of the sick and elderly.

Upon retiring she enjoyed her free time spent with family and friends and travelled often to visit family. Her favorite activities included collecting and distributing prayer cards and praying for her loved ones, often going to the Oblate grotto to light a candle for her loved ones. She loved discussing her faith with her friends and was always eager to help anyone in need.

Ana Maria was predeceased by her parents, Guadalupe and Concepcion Tapia, and siblings Fernando, David, Carlos, and Rita. She is survived by her beloved sister Angelina Mann of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Monica Briones and husband Albert and their son Cole of Cedar Park, Texas; sister, Frances Rojas and husband Fred and their children Bernadette, Barbara, Ann Marie, Sandra, Richard, Simon, Daniel and their spouses. Surviving Nieces and Nephews and their spouses also include Paul & Jennifer Rominak, Stanley & Jeanette Motz with granddaughter Reagan and their children, Santiago & Stephanie Flores, Christopher & Shelby Smith, Stanley Motz Jr., John Tapia and his son’s Michael and Bo John, and Leonard Tapia and his children Jeremy and Jessica.

Visitation will take place on March 7, 2022 between 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas. We will depart Roy Akers Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. for the Funeral Mass which will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S. Santa Rosa, San Antonio, Texas with the Graveside service to follow at San Fernando #3 Cemetery, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX.
