Amelia S. Medina beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, respected community friend, has passed on, to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2023, at the wisdom ripe age of 90, after succumbing to illness. Amelia S. Medina was born in Cotulla, TX to Manuel & Pillar Saldivar on May 21, 1933. She was married to Vivian R. Medina on January 10th, 1953, for 42 years. A devoted Wife and Mother, widowed in 1995 after 28 yrs. Amelia S. Medina was a respected food service worker for the South San Independent School District for at least 10 years, where she prepared delicious homemade lunches and served food at Kindred Elementary School where most of her children attended.
At the height of 53 years, she spent the rest of her years adventuring with her beloved husband adoring each passing year with each other. She was matriarch of the Medina Family, she was the glue and the power of unity, where family united for special occasions. Every Birthday and Holiday was celebrated at her home as she was seated at the table enjoying the fruits of her Labor. Our beautiful Mother was strong, loving, and caring. Inducted in the hall of fame in our hearts, as the Super Mom that acted relentlessly and sacrificially for her (Diez) children.
For many years she toiled lovingly, sharing, and preparing many meals and Many chores, a mother of incredible devotion to her family and Grandkids. She loved to shop and drink morning coffee, she loved flowers and plants, and she loved Christmas holidays and New Year’s Day. Her loving tender healing hands of warmth will be missed, and her unmatchable, tenacious ability to endure the challenging work of raising ten uniquely driven children will never be forgotten. We Salute you Mother for being all things in our lives and for being the most precious gem we could have possessed or been gifted with. Your light slowly dimmed away from us and what you left behind inside of us was of pure crystal-clear peace. You were the wind beneath our wings for so long. Your flight has come, fly in the arms of your father where no more tears or pain will be, or ten of anything to labor upon, your precious spirit has filled our hearts with your profuse enormous love.! “Honor her, for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate” Prov 31:31. 90 years of you loving us and us loving you, was a true blessing from God. We honor God for your life and the robustness of many splendid years enjoying the harvest of your motherly presence. We ask God to receive our mother with a crown of everlasting life. Your gentle meekness of being, exemplified a true abounding spirit of unconditional love, magnifying in us and thru us. Well Done! “Senora Amelia S. Medina, live forever our Mamacita, until we gather together again!” Her legacy of richness and strength lives on, in the lives she gave life to.
She is survived by her children: Grace Romero (Jesse Romero), Raymond Medina, Diane Castillo (Nick Castillo), Mary Louise Edwards (George H. Edwards), Manuel Ray Medina, Johnny J. Medina ( Jennette Medina), Mario Alberto Medina (Martha Medina),son in law Arthur Mata, Grandchildren: Nicholas Castillo, Mark Castillo, Vivian Castillo, Virginia Espinoza, Christina Rodriguez, Chris Mata, Princess Anna Lisa Mata, Oliva Romero, Amelia Romero, Michael Carriero, A’ja S. Stillwater, William S. Stillwater, Harrison S. Stillwater, Mario Medina jr. and 17 Great Grandchildren: Michael, Liliana Carriero, Kiveli Smith, Evy, Esme Espinoza, Andrew, Logan Rodriquez, Meadow, Phoenix, Storm Castillo, Cameron, Conner Castillo, Amorette, Ryder, Ryan Aguilar, Jakob Silva, Maria Alvarado, Kotaro William Stillwater. Oscar, Adrian Montelongo. She is preceded in Death by her Husband Vivian R. Medina, her daughters Erlinda Medina, Martha M Mata, Son Ramiro Medina, Son-in-law Scott Stillwater Pittard, and Parents Manuel and Pillar Saldivar.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, June 8th, 2023, at Funeraria Del Angel Palo Alto Trevino (2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211) from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St Clare Catholic Church (7701 Somerset Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211), then concluding at Mission Park Funeral Chapels (1700 SE Military Drive San Antonio TX 78214).
