June 14, 1955 – September 28, 2024
With profound sadness, we share the peaceful passing of Amanda F. Lopez on September 28, 2024, at the age of 69, surrounded by the warmth of her home and family.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Amanda lived her life to the fullest in the city she loved. A proud graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School, she went on to work at Finesilver, where fate introduced her to Regino A. Lopez. Together, they built a life of deep love and unwavering devotion, sharing 49 beautiful years as husband and wife.
Throughout her life, Amanda held many cherished roles— Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Godmother, Friend, and a Dedicated Nurse— but the one that brought her the greatest joy and fulfillment was being “Grammy.” It was in this role that her love and joy shined brightest, leaving an indelible mark on those she held dear.
This endearing title, coined by her eldest grandson and then affectionately brought to life by all her grandchildren, became a name treasured by the entire family, embodying the limitless love and care she so selflessly shared with them all.
Amanda’s legacy is marked by the warmth she radiated, touching everyone she encountered. Her beautiful laugh was a quiet but powerful force, filling hearts and rooms with joy. She had a special gift for making others feel seen and celebrated, and she selflessly gave of herself, never seeking acknowledgment but always extending a hand to those in need. Her life stood as a true reflection of love—steadfast, infinite, and everlasting.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Regino, and her children who were the pride of her life: Amaly Madrigal (Ernest), Amanda Kristy Tienda (Luis), Sheila Hernandez (Gerardo); sons Regino “Reggie” and Gerardo “Jerry.” She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren: Sebastian, Olivia, Shadan, Sofia and Baby Lopez, who were the greatest joy in her later years.
Amanda’s love, laughter, and quiet strength will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she is deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched, reminding us always of the beauty she brought into the world.
A Memorial service, immediately followed by the burial, will be held on October 7, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78218.
Special request: If you attend the services, Amanda has requested that no one wear black or dark colors. She was a bright and joyful spirit, and she wanted everyone to wear colorful attire in celebration of her life!
