Surrounded by her family, Adriana Reyna Jones was sent home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 15, 2018. Adriana was born June 20, 1940 in San Antonio Texas, she was 77 years of age. For a portion of her life, she lived in Austin Texas where she worked as a custodian at Lamar Middle School with Austin ISD. She also helped take care of some of her elderly friends which she enjoyed. Adriana was one of the most organized persons you could know, nothing was ever out of place. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts and supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of her sister. About 15 years ago, Adriana gave her life to the Lord. She became a member of the Lackland Terrace Church of Christ where she attended for 14 years and most recently began attending San Pedro Church of Christ.
Adriana is survived by her children, Edward Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez (Terry), and Sabrina Jones, her grandchildren; Steven, Amanda, Christopher, Jonathon, Jewlian, Joshua, Jaelyn, Joel, Brendyn, and Nasya, her great-grandchildren; Nathan, Aiden, Alanah, Aniyah, Aaliyah, Azayla, Adaliah, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her siblings Victor F. Reyna (Clara), Alfredo R. Reyna (Lupe), and Henrietta Fennell. She is proceeded in death by her parents Victor and Josephine Reyna, Bernadine D. Fernandez, brother Oscar Reyna and sister Celia Reyna Maldonado. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:00 am, Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A reception will follow at San Pedro Church of Christ, 311 Jackson Keller Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses at St. Luke’s Hospital, Girling Health Care, and Embrace Hospice for their care. A very special thank you to her provider, Mrs. Rosie Highfill who had so much compassion for her and always went above and beyond her duties. In loving memory, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Battered Women’s and Children Shelter, COPD Foundation, or Parkinson’s Foundation.
