Thomas Edward Steckbeck, 80, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 in San Angelo, Texas Thomas was born March 8, 1936 to Edward and Elsie Steckbeck in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. A celebration of Tom's life is at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th in Johnsons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at approximately 11:00 a.m. in Belvedere Memorial Park with full military honors.
Thomas E. Steckbeck had a distinguished career in the Military beginning in the Navy as a Gunners Mate aboard the USS Dennis J. Buckley, then transferred to the Army as a Russian Linguist and retired as a 1st Sergeant after 20 years. Thomas started a second career as a Sheriff Officer in San Angelo and became the Chief Lake Ranger for Tom Green County where he retired after 19 years of service in March 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Teresa, four sons, Thomas (Julie), Michael (Shannon), Steven, Andrew (Renee) Steckbeck, 8 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Connie Marinak, and his spouse Claudine Blevens.
