He was born on September 26, 1952 in San Angelo the son of the late Milford Newton and Cleo Bell Clark Shawn. He attended San Angelo Central High School and later became a bus driver for the Houston City-Tran. He also drove for the Kerrville Bus Lines in Houston and San Antonio in the 70 and 80’s. He began driving for Core Tucking of Kansas City where he was working at the time of his death.
He will be remembered as a very nice person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed music and liked to play drums and guitar especially 50, 60, and 70 rock songs. He will be greatly missed by his family which includes his brother and best friend, Jerry Newton Shawn of Lubbock, a nephew, Jerry Michael Shawn of Houston, nephew, Joshua Shawn and nieces, Miranda and Clarissa Shawn all of Houston, a good friend Roger of Austin and a companion, Lakey of Galveston.
A visitation will be held from 9am – 12 noon on Thursday at Johnson’s Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery at 2 pm.
His funny jokes and great personality and so much more will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
