He was born on August 2, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Howard & June La Fon.
Raymond attended Wichita Falls High School and graduated in the class of 1961. He later went on to obtain an Associates Degree from Midwestern State University. Raymond began his USAF career working in flight simulators during Vietnam. He later became a recruiter and ended his career in Social Actions.
Raymond married Carol Norman in Iowa Park, Texas on October 14, 1961. The couple had 3 children.
Raymond was a vibrant person who loved the Dallas Cowboys, Pinochle, visiting casinos, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family & listening to Bobcat football on Friday nights with Joe. Raymond was a huge prankster with a great sense of humor, incredible story telling skills, and a knack for keeping in touch with high school classmates.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & June La Fon; brother, Milton La Fon; and son-in-law, Mark Domingue.
Left to cherish Raymond's memory are his beloved wife, Carol La Fon; daughters, Gayla Backe (Ross), Kim Domingue (Mark), and Marla Wimberley (James); grandchildren, Brandy Stevens (Casey), Amanda Harris (Joey), Ryan Wimberley (Megan), Brittany Roundy, and Tyler Wimberley (Josh). Also left to cherish Raymond's memory are his great-grandchildren, Beckham, Jaxson, Jordan, Kendall, Lincoln, Phoenix, Kamrynn, Grayson, Kanyon, and Stella; and sisters, Veda Blake and Jeannine Miller.
