Peggy Glynn went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 19. Peggy was the daughter of Alta and Earnest Ross, born on April 6, 1933. As the younger sister to her brother, Van, the Rosses lived in Runge, TX until they moved northwest to Stanton. It was there that Peggy met James Glynn and graduated from Stanton High School. After four years of dating, they were married April 25, 1952. James’ work for the Soil Conservation Service required frequent relocation, opening the door to many friendships over their 68 faithful years of marriage. San Angelo was their final stop in 1978, and it has been their home ever since. They invested their time, love and resources as long-standing members of Trinity Fellowship Church, and Peggy considered them her second family. She had a beautiful, sunny smile and made sure she extended it to everyone she met.
Peggy is preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, and daughter-in-law, Claydene Glynn. She is survived by her doting husband, James, her son, Van of Cypress, her daughter, Jan (Doug) Kure of San Angelo, and six grandchildren: Rebekah (Rob) O’Sullivan, Daniel (Mandy) Kure, Erin Glynn, Andrew Kure, Melissa (Anthony) Charles, and Anna (Juan) Pereira. She will be missed by her 7 great-grandchildren who loved her as their Gigi: Brett, Noah, Harlie, Melody, Aiden, Grayson, and Caroline; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Ross of Temple, and her niece, Leslie Ross (Scott Petermeier) of Seattle.
The family will have a private service due to Covid restrictions, and a memorial service will follow at a later date. We extend our gratitude to Encompass Home Care, Comfort Keepers, and April Lowrance for caring for our beloved “Doll,” as James has always called her. Lastly, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to local charities of your choice.
