Marcelino began his teaching career in San Angelo, Texas after graduating from Angelo State University. He retired in 1999, from Dallas ISD. Marcelino gave his HEART to his students through his creativity and dedication. He was an avid collector of flamingos, crowns, and angels. He was a cherished brother, uncle, and friend. Marcelino loved, and was LOVED by his family and friends.
Survivors include his sisters, Olivia Reyes, Amelia Lopez (Adolfo), Candy Lara (Tom), Angel Alvarado (Leonard), Vicki Rosas (Armando Sr.), Margaret Gonzales (Edwin), brothers, Joe Martinez (Josie), Danny Martinez (Estella), Gilbert Juarez (Lurdes), and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino Sr. and Juanita and brothers, Ben Martinez and Alex Rodriguez.
A Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Janie Kelley of Unity Church of Christianity officiating.
