Manuela Cantu Pena, age 85, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2018. She was born on June 25, 1933, in San Angelo, Texas to Francisco and Clarita Cantu. She was a wonderful housewife who took care of a countless number of children and also loved to bake. Manuela deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was also a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic church. She is survived by her children, Jose Angel Pena, Sr. and wife Ester, Justina Picon and husband Lupe Picon, Jr., Galdino Lorenzo Pena, Jr. and wife Janie, and Raymond Ray; her grandchildren, Israel Pena and wife Aimee, Thomas Picon Sr. and wife Dora, Joe Pena Jr. and wife Jessica, Larry Joe Picon, Daniel Pena and wife Grace, Andrea Martin and husband Brendon, Cyndi McNary and husband John, and Stephen Pena. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Tommy Picon, Jr., Emily Pena, Nehamiah Picon, Jamien Martin, Ava Pena, Alexa Pena, Mason Pena, AJ Martin, Naomi Picon, Reese Jimenez, Asia Jimenez, Sevy Garcia, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Galdino Pena, Sr., her grandson, Galdino Pena III (Trey), 5 brothers, and 4 sisters. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday September 5, 2018, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 6, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, and honorary pallbearer, Bill Provencal. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bill and Barbara Provencal for being with mother and Raymond Ray at the time of her passing, as well as Mary Flores for her special help throughout the years.
