Lucy attended San Angelo Central High School and graduated in the class of 1976. She later went on to obtain her CNA Certification from Howard College. Lucy then began her career as a private caregiver, working for many loving families as a live in care provider.
Lucy married Adolfo Ramirez on October 21, 1978 and they had five children.
Lucy was a proud member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She had a passion for cooking for all her family and friends. She was famous for her banana nut bread. Lucy also enjoyed teaching her grandkids how to drive and going on late night sonic drives with them. Lucy loved going on family vacations with her family as well as taking casino trips with her friends. Music was also a huge part of Lucy’s life. She loved to dance. Lucy will always be remembered for her loving and feisty spirit. She will be dearly missed by her forever travel buddies and her protectors, Josephine Ramirez and Puppy Dog as well as her grandchildren who referred to her as "Teddy" and "Wee-Wah".
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Amaya and Julia Amaya; her husband, Adolfo Ramirez; and her brother, Joe Amaya.
Those left to cherish Lucy’s memory are her children: Emily Macias of Spearman, TX, Adolph (April) Ramirez of San Angelo, TX, Rosie Ramirez (Albert Santana) of Waxahachie, TX, Josephine Ramirez of San Angelo, TX, and James (Lelia) Ramirez of Odessa, TX. She is also blessed with grandchildren: Jon Marc & Jazlyn Santana of Waxahachie, TX, Julianna and Royce Macias of Spearman, TX, Adrian & Jason Ramirez of Odessa, TX, and Abraham & Oscar Ramirez of San Angelo, TX.
A rosary for Lucy will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 6:00 PM in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. A mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 301 West 17th Street, San Angelo, Texas with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family would also like to send a special thank you to her grandson, Adrian Ramirez for all the help with her trips to dialysis.
