Jessie Bell

Jessie Lee Bell went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2015 joining Gene Bell, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. She was born July 17, 1936 in Tom Green County to Sarah and William Smith. Jessie graduated from Pecos High School in Pecos, Texas in 1954 and shortly thereafter, met and married the love of her life, Gene Bell. By 1959, the Bell household grew with the birth of their two sons, Gary and Mike Bell. Jessie devoted the next 20 years to taking care of her family. When the boys left home, she went to work for the San Angelo State School and then worked for MHMR where she finished her career. Upon her retirement, she took her greatest pleasure in her grandchildren and her church family at Immanuel Baptist. Seven brothers and one sister preceded Jessie in death. One sister, Dorothy Phillips and her husband Clivy of Houston, Texas, and brother-in-law Earl Bell of Destin, Florida survive Jessie. Other family members who mourn her death include: Gary and Cindy Bell and their family of Aaron, Adam, and Kaylah; Mike and Shelly Bell and their family of Erin and Emily, and her husband Ryan Mohr. Jessie also has numerous nieces and nephews and church family that will greatly miss her. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
