Dr. Hugo Michael "Mike" Jaeckle III, a devoted husband, father, brother, friend and compassionate dentist, passed away on October 5, 2024. He was born March 4, 1957, and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. Mike's life was filled with kindness, love, and adventure.
A graduate of Winston Churchill High School, Saint Mary’s University, and Baylor College of Dentistry, Mike practiced dentistry for over 40 years. He cared for his patients with compassion and a gentle hand, forming lasting connections throughout his career. After practicing alongside his father in San Antonio for nine years, Mike moved his family to San Angelo, where he established his own practice and where his family became part of the community they love.
Mike had a free-spirited love for nature, spending much of his time hunting, fishing, and mastering the art of skeet and trap shooting. The outdoors were his sanctuary, and he shared that love with friends and family, leaving them with treasured memories of adventure.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Hugo Michael Jaeckle, Jr. and Helen Jaeckle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Courtney Jaeckle, and his four children: twins Ava Caroline and Bryant Michael Jaeckle, Hannah Burriss of Washington DC, and Helen Ramsey of Kansas City, KS. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Henry and Dawson; his brother, Dr. Patrick Jaeckle and wife Pam of Las Cruces, NM; his sister, Sandy Stevens and husband Bert of New Braunfels; his sister, Cindy Brooks and husband Steve of Austin, and a very large extended family who loved him and will miss him deeply.
In times of grief, his family finds comfort in Isaiah 12:2: "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord Himself is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation."
Dr. Mike Jaeckle will be remembered for his unwavering love, his compassion, and his zest for life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
A Celebration of Life for Dr. Mike Jaeckle will be held at the Jaeckle Residence from 5-7 pm on October 16, 2024. There will be a future Celebration of his life on earth at Lake LBJ, where he spent much of his childhood creating many happy and lifelong memories.
