Henry G. Soto

Henry G. (Enrique) Soto went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in Knickerbocker, Texas, on May 10, 1928, to Genaro and Casiana Soto. He was preceded in death by one son, Vidal Soto; his parents; brothers Genaro, Honofre, Segundo, Cornelio, Vidal and Tomas Soto; sisters Elaine Perez and Antonia Soto; and great-granddaughter Cierra Holguin. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emma Soto; daughters Diana Ramirez and Jeanette Holguin of Fort Worth, Texas, Bernice Cardenas, Debbie Soto and Frances Soto Alcocer of San Angelo, Texas; and sons Enrique and Orlando Soto of San Angelo, Texas, Honofre (Opie) Soto and Yvonne Montgomery of Lewisville, Texas, and John and wife Andrea Soto of Dallas, Texas. He had 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who brought him an abundance of love and joy. He is also survived by one sister, Bernice Cano; brother-in-law Felix Perez; sisters-in-law Nellie Soto and Josie Soto of San Angelo, Texas, and Dora Longoria of Santa Ana, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. We the family would like to give many thanks for the love and attention that was given to our dad by the doctors and nurses of Shannon Hospital 4th floor north and by close friends of the family who have been there through good and hard times. Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Henry Soto to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the National Kidney Foundation . Pallbearers will be Jeremy Holguin, Abraham Cardenas, Bryan Alcocer, Matthew Soto, Daniel Anzaldua and Orlando Carrillo. Honorary pallbearer will be David Cano and Edward Rodriguez. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday June 1, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
