Elsa Lydia Garcez-Salas

Elsa Lydia Garcez-Salas left this world for her heavenly home far too soon, on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Elsa was born in Big Lake, Texas on July 21, 1963. She loved everyone and she loved life. Elsa was always quick to help and pray for others. She had a huge heart; she would give unconditionally and unselfishly. Elsa was a true Warrior of God. She loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and encouraged others to do the same. Elsa worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 20 years. She loved her job as a Customer Service Advocate. Elsa had just gotten a promotion to be a supervisor in the claims department before her illness. She loved her "clickas" as her family. Elsa had many friends at HCSC and each have some kind of memory of her.

Elsa is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Olivia Perez; her baby sister, Mercy Narvaez and her grandson, Jonathan Reyes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 24 years, Epifanio "Guero" Salas; her son, B.J. (Letty) Garcez; her daughters, Olga (Julio) Salas and Roseanne (E.R.) Reyes; her sister, Juanita (Lorenzo) Martinez; her brothers, Jr. (Lydia) Perez and Billy (Amy) Perez; her grandchildren, Julio Salas Jr., Brian Salas, Kevin Salas, Dylan Salas, Sarah Garcez, Joshua Garcez, Jacob Garcez, and Bri Salcido; great grandchildren, Anahi Salas, Hazely Salas, and Rafael Salas. As well as several nieces, nephews, and her church family.

Pallbearers will include Julio Salas Jr., Brian Salas Jr., Kevin Salas, Dylan Salas, Joshua Garcez, Jacob Garcez, and Billy Joe Perez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddy Narvaez and Macario Oropeza Jr.

Open visitation will be held Monday, July 20, 2020 from 1-8 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. A prayer service will be Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 6 PM at E220 Church (2121 Lindell St. San Angelo, TX) . Elsa's funeral service will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Roca Eterna in Big Lake, Texas officiated by Erica Ruiz, with burial to follow in Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake.
