She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Weldon Parks, Volene Parks, Oliver Parks, and Frances Patterson; and by her loving husband of 64 years, Oscar. Of all the things Dorothy did in life, nothing compared to the times she spent with her family. She devoted her life to being a good mother, wife, and homemaker. She was very involved in every stage of her children's lives, and later on her grandchildren's lives, including being a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for many years, 4-H Leader, PTA president, and supporting all their efforts at countless football games. After her children grew a little older, Dorothy continued her life of service by supporting her community. As a long time member of Lions Club International and a Charter Member of the Concho Pearl Lions, she held multiple offices, including that of President several times. She was very proud and honored to be presented with the distinguished Melvin Jones Fellow Award. She was an avid quilter, and quilted many beautiful quilts for her family and for the Lion’s Club fund raisers. She continued to be an active member of the Lions until her death. Dorothy will always be remembered by her many family members and many, many friends for her selfless life of service, her devotion to Jesus Christ as a life-long member of the Church of Christ, her eternal love of all of us, and her wonderful sense of humor. She inspired her family by being an extraordinary role model of how to live your life. We will keep her in our hearts and thoughts as we remember countless touching moments, get togethers over coffee, and fun and loving family gatherings.
