Bobby Joe Granger was born in Sonora, Texas on Feb. 5, 1931 and passed on Oct 21, 2018. His parents were Wes and Edna Granger. Bob went to Sonora High School and graduated in 1949. Bob was also a US Veteran of the United States Army. Bob was an avid sports fan and HS football was his passion, especially his hometown Sonora Broncos. Bob's wife, MaryBeth Granger preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Fish and granddaughter, Brittney Granger. Survivors include children: Bobby Granger of Andrews, TX, Barbara Boyd and husband Steve of Center, TX, Bernice Granger of Montgomery, TX, Benny Granger and wife Shana of Andrews, TX. Bob has 9 grandchildren: Melinda Crouch, Robert Crouch, Chris Boyd, Stephanie Haltom, Cody Bush, Cami Williams, Kyle Fish, Brittney Granger and Brady Granger. Bob also has 15 great grandchildren.
For the past 5 years, Bob has lived at the Lyndale Independent Retirement Living Center in San Angelo, TX where he has enjoyed many activities such as dancing, group outings, bingo and other activities with his many friends there. He especially enjoyed the company of his loving companion and friend, Sarah Alexander White who he referred to as Miss Sarah. The family is indebted to Miss Sarah as well as the Lyndale staff and residents for helping him have 5 great years at the end of his life.
Service will be on Wednesday, October 24 at 1:00pm at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo. The burial will be at approximately 2:00pm at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens (4989 FM Hwy 1223, San Angelo)
Visitation service will be at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo on Tuesday, Oct 23 from 4:00-7:00pm.
