Bette Jane Ashworth, age 85, of San Angelo, Texas entered into rest on Thursday November 14, 2019. Bette was born October 15, 1934 in Schenectady, New York to Gerald and Mary Haver. She married the love of her life, Ronald Ashworth, at Trinity Methodist Church on April 17, 1953 in Albany, NY. They shared 53 plus years together before he passed away on December 8, 2005.
Bette retired after 30 years in Federal Service, 22 years at Goodfellow Air Force Base where she served as The Support Group Commander's Secretary/Administrative Assistant. Throughout her career she received many awards from the Air Force and San Angelo for her volunteer service. She was awarded The Distinguished Civilian Service Award upon retirement. In 2009 she was inducted into the Concho Valley Service Hall Of Fame.
Bette is survived by several nieces and nephews in the Albany, New York Metro and San Angelo areas.
Bette was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald G. Ashworth; son Wayne Ashworth; parents Gerald and Mary Haver; brother Gerald Haver and sister Kathleen Quigley.
A visitation for Bette will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 W Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, Texas. A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
