Joan Lee Curtis Bateman, 82, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away May 25,2012. Joan was born on July 26, 1929 to William Henry “Bill” and Allie Mae Graham Curtis in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married Duane Alberto Bateman on January 1, 1950 in Las Vegas, NV. Joan spent her whole life caring for others. She was a wonderful cook, an excellent seamstress, homemaker and devoted wife and mother. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Joan held several positions during her life, as well as being a volunteer Pink Lady at a local hospital. Our wife and mother will always be remembered for her laughter, sense of humor and her wonderful ability to put others at ease. Joan is survived by her husband Duane, her daughters Kay (Scott) Lowe, Bentonville, AR, Connie Bateman (Richard Martinez), Salt Lake City, Utah and Karin (John) Gero, Manchester, MA. Grandson Zak (Kim) Lowe and great granddaughter Reagan Lowe, Bentonville, AR. As well as many nephews and nieces. Proceeded in death by her parents, brother Bob and sisters, Betty and Laura. The family wished to express so much love and gratitude to Connie Bateman for her loving and tireless care giving as we as our appreciation to Advanced Homecare Solutions and the staff at Aspen Ridge West.
