Jack Howard Potts passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 2, 2015. He was 88 years old.
Jack was born on Dec. 12, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Samuel Willard Potts and Sarah Evelen Wilkinson Potts. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Fred) Taylor and many loving nephews and nieces.
Jack was a cheerful, active man whose life was one of love and service to others. As a very young man he lovingly cared for his ailing mother during the Great Depression.
He served his country in the Army as a part of the occupational forces in Japan at the end of World War II. After returning home he was employed until his retirement as a Nurses Assistant and Technician in the ICU unit at the Veterans Hospital where he was esteemed and loved by his colleagues and patients alike. Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Jack was a much beloved member of a large extended family in which he touched many lives with his love and kindness. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a Graveside Service for Jack on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 1:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. This will be preceded by a gathering at 11:00 am for all those would like to meet together and celebrate Jack's life.
