David “Bucket” Louis Adkins, 61, of Aberdeen passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Sterling Care Riverside in Belcamp, MD. Born March 24, 1960 in Winston Salem, NC he was the son of the late Louis Alvin Adkins and Daphne Craig Adkins.
In 1978 Bucket graduated from James M. Bennet and served in the United States Air Force stationed in the Philippines where he was the Crew Chief Leader. For many years he worked for Sysco and later worked as a Handyman. David loved fishing and was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins Fan. Being very artistic he enjoyed drawing, photography, and cooking. He was a prayer warrior and was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church where in the past he enjoyed driving the church van. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who had the biggest heart and would give anyone the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his wife, Casey Adkins; daughter, Samantha Adkins; son-in-law, Mitchell Byrd; granddaughter Addilyn Byrd; brother, Joseph Adkins; sister, Susan Rogers and her husband Scott; nieces and nephews, Meredith Lewis and her husband Ryan, Zachary Rogers, James Rogers, and Madison Rogers; great-nieces, Olivia and Palmer Lewis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eric and Laura Ludwig; several cousins, and many friends.
A funeral service with military honors will be held Tuesday at 6pm at Allen Memorial Baptist Church where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dr. William L. Warren will officiate. Interment will be held Wednesday at 11am in Springhill Memory Gardens.
