Robert was born in Portland, Oregon on September 29, 1936 to his parents Leroy and Eloise Boldt. He grew up in Astoria, where he lived until he was 18 years old, with a rich family history there. Bob’s father, LeRoy Boldt, was the head man of Oregon Highway Department all of his life, where he and his family made many friends and became lifelong members of the Methodist Church.
After graduating high school, Robert received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and later went on to attend a Master’s program at the University of Oregon. Bob settled in Salem, Oregon where he became a lifelong resident of 60 years.
Robert became a Certified Public Accountant and was a founding partner of Boldt, Carlisle & Smith, LLC where he dedicated over 30 years of his career until retirement. Bob was a member of the First Methodist Church in Salem, where he met Pastor John Fleming and many others. He was a part of several fraternal organizations in his lifetime, starting with Kappa Sigma while at Oregon State University, he then became a member of the Freemasons, eventually becoming a Shriner where he has held membership since 1955. Robert enjoyed traveling, hiking, and hunting, eventually owning and operating a duck farm for hunting. Robert recently took a trip to Africa where he was able to be involved in big game hunting expeditions.
Robert is loved and survived by his wife Geri Boldt, son Michael Boldt and wife Susan, daughter Shelly Clemens and husband Marcus, step-children Tracy Davis, Tony Minden, Gina Pollman and her husband Dean, grandchildren Elise Mahon and husband Jake, Geoffrey Boldt and fiancé Lauren, Kathryn Schneider and husband Matthew, Kieran McAdam and wife Rachel, and Laci Clemens. Robert is also survived by his great-grandchildren Marlowe Mahon and Siobhan McAdam.
