Milton Robbins, age 81, of Salem, Oregon passed away on FridSalem – Milt Robbins was born in Orange, California to Richard G. and Janet Martin Robbins. He was raised in Santa Ana, California and died while living at Capitol Manor in Salem, Oregon. He married Charlene Clark in 1965 and together they raised 4 children in their 57 years of marriage.
He graduated from the University of Redlands in 1962 and worked retail and sales for various department stores, covering five states in the Pacific NW for over 20 years. Prior to final retirement in 2006, he was employed by the State of Oregon administering grants for affordable housing.
Milt had diverse interests including reading, choral and orchestral music, world and US travel and a continuing love of motorsports racing. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, volunteered for Salem Interfaith Network activities as well as delivery for Meals on Wheels, and in later years both Milt and Charlene were active in the Institute for Continued Learning at Willamette University.
Milt is survived by his wife Charlene; son Steve Robbins; daughters Kimber Bell and Kristin (Brian) Marcroft. He is also survived by grandsons Devon and Noah; sister Marcia (Ken) Hendrick plus numerous nieces and nephews. Milt was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori Robbins and his brother Brad Robbins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am, Saturday, October 29th at Capitol Manor, 1955 Dallas Highway, Salem OR. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 006, Newton MA 02458
