Son, Brother, Friend, Husband, Father: These labels do not define Kevin, rather they are the framework upon which he built his life and drew in those who knew him. Kevin loved music (performing as well as listening), languages (Mandarin Chinese most recently), movie quotes and, most of all, the freedom to pursue knowledge and ideas. It was often his knowledge that initially connected Kevin to others, but it was his joy in sharing his knowledge, and his ready smile which bound people to Kevin and enriched their lives. Kevin's eclectic style was exemplified in all aspects of his life. In college he tried on majors from Engineering to Russian Studies before settling on Zoology, and he worked summers in the wilds of Alaska where he enjoyed meeting people from many countries and walks of life. Upon graduation from OSU he bounced around the IT industry before settling down to develop and implement software solutions for Mid-Columbia Medical Center, where he worked for 15 years. The intricate framework of Kevin's life was built around his love of family and friends; he placed us all before himself. Because he died young, we may be tempted to remain mired in the pain of our loss. Instead, we urge you to remember how Kevin touched your life and to keep his presence alive in your heart and mind as an indelible part of who you are – looking to the story of his living for strength, wisdom, and laughter. Kevin's life will continue to inspire his wife, Stephanie; children, Ian and Sheridan; mother Kathryn; father Patrick (Ronda), brothers Joseph (Jamie) and James (Jennifer) and their families; mother and father in-law Pam and Bill Hubble and all who knew him as friend, co-worker, and community member.
A celebration of life will be held at the Alcyone Cafe at 315 High St SE Salem, OR from 2-5pm on Saturday September 7, 2013.
