Katherine "Katie" Gay Alford, age 57, of Salem, Oregon passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Katie was born on January 18, 1966 in Colton, Oregon to Elton and Jeanine (Long) Parker.
She loved to cook, make jewelry, photographing nature, and write novels. Katie was a rockhound and she really knew a lot about flowers and plants in the area. She liked the color green and really loved being outdoors. Katie enjoyed watching sunrises and going to the slough in the morning.
She is survived by her son, Mitchell, and many friends who will miss her dearly. Katie was a joy to be around. She was the person who always had funny stories to tell.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Katie on Saturday, October 14th at 1:00PM at Howell Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon Ransom Funeral Directors.
