Gary Edwin Glaze

Gary attended Judson Jr. High and South Salem High School. He joined the U. S. Army and served in Vietnam as a forward observer. He received numerous medals, including 6 bronze stars.

Following his discharge, he enrolled in the U of O. Gary graduated with a degree in Psychology, then attended OCE for his teaching certificate. He taught elementary students and was a Library Media instructor in Salem.

The Glazes moved to Polk County on 5 forested acres. Gary kept busy with the demands of acreage ownership by mowing, weeding, repairing (and repeat.) He loved country living.

Gary is survived by his wife Ann Sprague Glaze whom he married in 1970, a daughter, Sarah (Jeston Black) and two grandsons, Maguire and Madden. He is also survived by brothers, Greg Glaze (Susan) and Rich Glaze (Judi), and a sister, Claudia Glaze Jones. He loved the time spent with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 24, 2:00 pm at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
