He went to Harding Academy, a military academy in Glendora, California, where he learned the
bugle and many other things. Trainee Cco, 1St Battalion 2D Infantry Training Regiment Marine
Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California, later taking part in shooting competitions and saw
action in South East Asia.
In 1962 He and Kay were married and had 2 sons. A life long love of all things automotive, as
Kay Ash said “he could fix anything”. Retired from Fairview Hospital after working 35 years
with the State of Oregon. Loved being with family, working in the garden, listening to his
favorite gardening show, and feeding the birds.
Preceded by His parents and brother Lars, and son Lance. Survived by Kay Ash, Son Ted and
his wife Jasmine, Grandchildren Alisha, William and his wife Nicole, and Chad, and also 3 Great
Grandchildren Sha’Miayah, Ke’Lyreia and Ja’Veon.
Graveside service will facilitated by Goldens funeral, and lead by Pastor Bret Truax in Salem at
City View cemetery, 10 AM on August 3rd.
