April Dana Adelson, nee Marshall, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on January 31, 1964, in Swampscott, MA, she was the daughter of Bernard and Phyllis (Werner) Adelson.
April grew up in Swampscott, MA, and graduated from Swampscott High School in the Class of 1982. She continued her education at Sweet Briar College, earning a BA in Anthropology and Sociology in 1986.
April had a fulfilling career as a Talent Acquisition Leader at Maximus. Her dedication and expertise in the recruiting field were widely recognized and appreciated by her colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, April was known for her generous nature and adventurous spirit. From a young age, she was also an accomplished equestrian, competing in horse shows throughout the country. She loved spending time outdoors–taking long walks at the beach, kayaking, and biking were just some of her favorite pastimes.
Above all, April’s greatest joy was spending time with her beloved family and wide circle of friends. She is survived by her loving children, Lily Marshall and Hayden Marshall. April spent many years raising her children in Potomac, MD, until moving to Hilton Head Island and finally Boca Raton, FL.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 at 1:30pm at the Sudlikov Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everette, MA 02149.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation (glioblastomafoundation.org) or Sweet Briar College Fund (sbc.edu/alumnae/give/sweet-briar-fund), both causes that were close to April's heart.
