It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Bridget Ann Shaffer on January 06, 2022 at U of M Fairview Hospital at the age of 72. She battled numerous medical conditions with the most courageous grace, bravery and strength that we’ve ever seen. She lived everyday with positivity and determination not to let anything keep her from doing the things she loved. Bridget never lost her childlike spirit and love for life and stayed strong until the very end.
Bridget met and married the love of her life, Thomas. It was love at first sight and they have been inseparable ever since. Together, they had two daughters Bobbie Jo and Kelly Jo. Her family meant more to her than anything else in the world. Anyone who knew Bridget knew that she was the most loving wife and mother a family could ask for. Bridget was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Bridget touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel so important and special. She showed up when it mattered, and was always ready to help in moments of need. She was the friend you could always count on.
Bridget was an avid reader and published author. Family and close friends will fondly remember Bridget’s ability to plan the most special details for holidays, especially Christmas, vacations, and many festive occasions with the greatest attention to detail so everything was always perfect. She took pride in and kept an immaculate house and was highly skilled with crochet hooks.
Bridget was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She was truly one of a kind. She will be forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to have had her in their lives.
She will be missed more than any words could ever express but she will be forever in our hearts till we meet again. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Thomas and was a doting and loving mother to her two daughters: Bobbie Jo (Gary) Nissen and Kelly Jo Shaffer.
