Raymond was born March 30, 1941 in St. Martin Parish to the late Anglos and Estella Talley Guidry, and passed away peacefully Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Agnes Healthcare in Breaux Bridge, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Raymond was a lifelong commercial fisherman and trapper. He lived a simple life and worked hard to support and care for his family. When he wasn’t fishing, he made crawfish traps for many of the other fisherman in the area. His knowledge and expertise of his trade was vast, and he passed that wealth of knowledge on to his children so that they could make a good living and support their families as he did. But Raymond’s was most happy when he was able to spend time with his family. Watching his granddaughters play and grow brought so much happiness to him. And he blessed to have spent 51 years married to his best friend and sweetheart. He leaves behind a legacy of love and many happy memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Oline LeBlanc Guidry of Catahoula; his children, Todd J. Guidry, Lonny J. Guidry, and Timmy R. Guidry; his granddaughters whom he adored, Sadie Guidry, Jacy Guidry, Brianna Guidry and Braylee Guidry; four great grandchildren; and his sisters, Gladys Berthelot and Leona Savoie.
Along with his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his sister, Laida Guidry; and his brothers, Paul Guidry, Leonard Guidry and Elton Guidry.
Serving as pallbearers are Todd, Lonny and Timmy Guidry.
