Charles Larry King was born January 2nd, 1941, in Jacksonville, FL to Charles and Naomi King. He passed peacefully in the evening hours of Monday, November 18, 2024. He was the youngest of 3 sons and preceded in death by his father and older brothers Lewis and Leland. His mother remarried Merrill Hilliard, then welcoming 3 younger sisters, Joyce, Ruth and Mona.
Known as Larry, and in later years, "King Charles", he was full of jokes and laughter, always bringing smiles to the faces of friends and family.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia, who brought him immense joy in the latest years of his life and cared for him until the very end. Together, they lived in Ocala, attending church regularly and sharing their love of God. Larry was proud to bring his children, Kenneth (Liz) King, Rachel (Bobby) Newell, Kimberly (Jason) Branson and Patricia's children, Beth (Richard) Clayton, Joseph (Karen) Sears, Stephanie (Steve) Brown and Lynnette Morales together and happy to be a part of their lives. He was a loving father, grandfather to 16, great-grandfather to 6 and friend to many.
Larry will be remembered for his service to the United States Air Force and laid to rest on December 9th, 2024, at 2:30 pm at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
