Brice Turner passed away unexpectedly as a result of a car accident Sunday, November 12th, 2023. Brice grew up in Jacksonville and St. Johns Florida, graduating from Creekside HS (2018) and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (2022). At the time of his death Brice was a graduate student studying Nuclear Engineering at the University of Florida and was working for the Los Alamos Laboratory, conducting research. He had completed internships at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a child Brice’s favorite sport was whatever was in season and he loved his time on the cross country and track teams at CHS. Brice dabbled in many hobbies including, running, snowboarding, scuba diving and building elaborate Lego creations, among others. If it could be done outdoors Brice would try it. Brice was also an avid sports fan who had traveled as far as Montreal to see an F1 Race, California to see an NBA finals game and was a regular spectator at Daytona International Speedway and EverBank Stadium to cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brice will be remembered for his desire to master his pursuits, including his curiosity and dedication to learning. His thoughtfulness to his family, his ingenuity, creativeness, and his bright mind will not be forgotten.
Brice was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Michael A. Koch, and is survived by many loving family members including his parents Bruce and Bridget Turner, sister Brooke, maternal grandmother Beatrice (Graham) Koch, paternal grandparents Karen (Bozicevic) Turner and Bruce Turner Sr. (Stacy), Aunt Carey Brown (Drew), Uncle Mike Koch (Colleen), cousins, Drew, Owen, Wyatt, Seamus, Quenton. Aunt Theresa Sloan (Matt), and cousins Matthew and Aidan, and many loving great aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21st from 5-7 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, St. Johns, FL. ASL interpretation will be available from 6-7pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated in memory of Brice on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11am at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church with reception to follow.
