Ray graduated from Sacramento High School in January 1938; the same year he met his beloved “Margie”. July 1939, Ray dutifully began his 20 years of service to our country in the United States Army, serving during World War II. Ray worked for Dolan’s Building Materials for 16 years and upon leaving Dolan’s in 1962, Ray and business partner, John Lyon began Allied Building Materials “The Door Shoppe”. In 1985, Ray retired from his business to take care of his wife, Margie.
