Alfred W. Stone, passed away in Sacramento, January 15, 2021. He is proceeded in death by his Mother, Catherine Stone; Father, Abel Arthur Stone; Brother, Arthur Stone; Sister, Linda Stone-Cardenas; and Wife, Tanya M. Stone.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Stone; Daughters, Vivian and husband Tracey Tanner, Lisa and husband Dean Griffin, Sonya and husband Micheal Silva and Donya and Tyi Clay. He leaves behind his six grandchildren, Brooke, Dewitt, Mitchell, Brittany, Brooklyn, and Jeremy as well as nine nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Manhattan, New York City. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he made a 20 year career. In 1978 he retired as a Master Sargent and a Vietnam Veteran.
Later in 1978 he began his career with the California Department of Corrections, where he was a dedicated employee from 1978 to 2009 and retired as a Captian.
In 2018 he became active with the American Legion where he served as Commander until his recent illness.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Friday January 29th, 2021 at 1PM at the Camellia Memorial Lawn Mausoleum. Friends and Family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Boyko Equestrian Ranch in Shingle Springs, Ca or to the American Legion post 119 in Eldorado/Placerville.
