Russell James McLean

1942 – 2022

Rumford- Russell J. McLean 79, of Dickvale Rd. Peru, died Monday August 8, at Rumford Community Hospital, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Portland, on August 18, 1942 a son of the late Russell and Jessie (Crawford) McLean. Russell proudly served his country in the US Navy.

Russell Worked as a boom truck operator for many years with Bancroft. He married Jaqueline Ring in 1975. She passed in 2020. Russell enjoyed camping at Cupsuptic Lake Park and Campground. He and Jackie enjoyed many years there visiting with family and welcoming many new friends at his "bar" McLean's Pub.

He is survived by his 5 children Jody Guerra and husband Abel of Conroe, TX, Russel McLean and Laurie of Peru, ME, Veronica Dennis and Brad of Andover, ME, Sharon Burgess and Matt of Rumford, ME & James McLean and Laura or Scarborough, ME.

He is also survived by his 6 surviving siblings including Howard McLean and Debbie of Jay, ME, Hazel Blood and Ollie of Jay, ME, Norma Bukoveckas and Ray of Valier, MT, Arlene Lowell and Paul of Oak Grove, LA, Richard McLean and Kathy of Andover, ME, & Roy McLean and Cheryl of Rumford, ME. Russel had 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by 2 grandsons Joshua John Lipscomb and Michael John McLean, sister Brenda McLean and brother Reed McLean.

A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday Aug. 20th starting at 12pm at Russell’s home at 232 Dickvale Rd in Peru, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dana- Farber Institute of cancer care and Research 450 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
