She was born in Bethel, Maine on April 6, 1939 the daughter of Mary and Verne Corkum.
She was educated at Gould Academy where she graduated in 1957. She then went to Burdette Business College where she graduated. She spent a year and a half in Karlsruhe, Germany, thirteen years in No. Plainfield, NJ and the remainder of her life in Mexico, Maine.
Nancy enjoyed hand crafts, knitting, crocheting, etc. for her friends and family.
She is survived by her three children, Betsy Loveless and her husband Fred from Brunswick, Russell VanDeursen and his partner Heather Chase of Intervale, NH. and Kevin VanDeursen and his wife Carol of Lewiston; two stepchildren, Lisa Moore and her husband Dennis and Bruce Plante of Rumford; and also by the loves of her life, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Noel Plante.
A Funeral Mass honoring Nancy’s life will be celebrated at a time and day to be announced later in the Spring at St. Athanasius Church in Rumford. Committal services will then follow at St. John’s Cemetery. At the request of the family there will not be any visitation.
