He was born September 19, 1953, in Rumford, the son of Arthur (Splash) Gallant and Mary (Fleming) Gallant. He was a graduate of Rumford High School in 1972 and attended both the University of Maine at Orono and the University of Prince Edward Island.
On October 17, 1992, he married Tammy (Barnett) Gallant and together they became the proud parents of their daughter Makenzie Q. on Larry’s birthday in 1995. They made their home on the beautiful South Rumford Road enjoying many special parties on their deck.

He also enjoyed jetskiing with his wife, family gatherings at Worthley Pond, playing golf with his older brother, and entertaining family and friends with his impromptu antics. He was a lifelong Patriots and Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching Makenzie play sports in school.
Larry managed the Sherwin Williams Store in Rumford for almost twenty-four years treating customers and contractors as if they were friends.
His co-workers, Peter and Bonnie Bart, managers Mitch and Phil were truly his Sherwin Williams family.
