He was born in Rumford on October 12, 1940 a son of Murray L. and Bernice (Soubble) Bartlett.
Donald was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1959.
He served in the US Navy from 1959 – 1963. He married Sheila M. Mehigan on November 26, 1964 and together they celebrated 45 years of marriage. Donald was employed at Bridge Construction Co., Diamond International and Boise Cascade.
He enjoyed doing watch and clock repairs, and also loved watching country westerns. He was an avid NY Yankees fan.
Donald served for several years on the Rumford Park Commission and was a former member of the American Legion.
He loved spending time with his son and grandson’s Bradley and Wyatt.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila M. Bartlett of Rumford; a son, Thomas M. Bartlett and wife Vanessa of Rumford; two grandchildren, Bradley M. Bartlett and Wyatt T. Bartlett; three sisters, Colleen Brown of Greene, ME, Sandra Delisle and husband William of Winthrop, and Maureen Arsenault of Rumford; and a brother, Johnny Bartlett of Rumford.
He was predeceased by his parents.
