Thomas Randall Dennis “Randy”, age 53, of Marietta, GA passed away on Thursday July 9, 2020. He was born on June 24, 1967 in Columbus, Georgia to Horace Vedell Dennis & Sybil Casbolt Dennis. Randy lived life to the fullest and dearly loved his family and many friends.
Randy met the love of his life, Leanne, at West Georgia College and they were married at Roswell Methodist Church. This union of 29 years was blessed with two beautiful children, Rachel and Amanda. Randy and Leanne loved each other and they spent many years traveling, sharing precious memories and adventures together.
Randy graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester, Georgia in 1985. Following high school, Randy attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting.
As a successful CPA and business man, Randy served as the Deputy Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer for the Teacher’s Retirement System of Georgia and was the former CFO for the Administrative Office of the Courts for the state of Georgia. He also served as a Board Director for the Georgia United Credit Union.
Randy loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a devoted husband and proud father. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was also an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved to hunt, fish, play golf, cheer for the Georgia Bulldogs and tell fireside stories. He was an accomplished drummer and would play for any audience. Randy will be missed by so many people.
Randy is survived by his wife Leanne Dennis, his daughters Amanda Dennis and Rachel Dennis & fiancé Grant Williams, brother Rick Dennis and brother Rob Dennis & wife Brenda, sister & brother-in-law’s Debbie & Chris Pike and Becky & Keith Lovvorn, nieces & nephews Taylor & Raina Pike, Meghan & Taylor Cook, Jordan Pike, Tyler Pike, Daniel Lovvorn, Shelby & Trey Neal, Andrew & Erin Dennis, Emily & Robert Snipes, Becca Dennis, and great nieces & nephew.
Randy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend. His outstanding wit, life and influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. His love, laughter and friendship will continue to bring joy to his family and friends as we hold him close in our hearts.
The family will hold a private memorial service. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date.
