Bob was also active in music, playing trumpet and guitar. He graduated from Penn State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree. After college, Bob started working at IBM in Kingston, New York which led him to meeting his wife Joan. Bob held various positions at IBM which took him and his young family on many adventures living in 4 different states across the US. He often joked that IBM stood for “I’ve been moved.” Bob and his family finally settled in Marietta, Georgia where Bob and Joanie remained for over 30 years After working at IBM for over 20 years, Bob took on another adventure and started his own financial consulting business. Bob successfully ran this business until he retired in 2016 and took great pride in the personal relationships he developed with his clients who often became friends..
Bob was a family man at his core. His top priority was always to provide a continual stream of love and steadfast support for family near and far. He traveled from Florida to Alaska to spend time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with everyone together. Bob also loved the outdoors, especially the beach and the lake. Whether feeding the ducks at Mountain Park, playing on the beach in Hilton Head and Amelia Island, or sailing on Lake Lanier, Bob took solace in the peace and tranquility of the water.
