Robert Joseph Clemenger, 69, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend passed away very unexpectedly on November 4, 2019. A 34-year resident of Marietta, GA, he was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 20, 1950 and was preceded in death by parents, Clinton (Scotty) and Anne Clemenger. He recently obtained dual United States and Canadian citizenship.
Earning a B.A. degree in Sociology, he graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1972. Bob also earned a J.D. Law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1985— an accomplishment that was known only to his family.
Bob served eight years as a Public Health Advisor with the Centers for Disease Control, the job that brought he and Louise to Atlanta. He then began a 31 year career as a Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service. Most of his years were spent at the Northside Carrier Facility, retiring from there in October 2016.
Interests included reading, attending Broadway shows, traveling, discovering family genealogy, snowboarding, his two favorite cats, restoring his ’70 Chevy Impala, serving as a deacon at Gwinnett Bible Chapel, and loving on his grandkids.
Cherishing the memories and fun times are his wife of 43 years, Louise (Bain) Clemenger, Marietta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Joshua Josef, three grandchildren: Luke (9), Emberly (6), and Whitley (6mo), Kennesaw, GA; sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Steven Damiani and their children, Catherine, Steven and Amanda, Barrington, RI.
We’ll miss you Pops!
