Peggy was an active person and was involved in doing many things– (especially travel).
She graduated from Julia Richman High School and then attended Katherine Gibbs Business School, where she received a Business Certificate.
Peggy joined the Laconia Presbyterian Church in 1957. She taught Sunday School there for 5 years. She was one of the adult leaders at Laconia for many years. She enjoyed working hard for the church and was elected Elder for 12 years. She then was elected Clerk of Session for one year.
Peggy was blessed with three sisters; Mrs. Dorothy Smith, Dr. Emily Gibbes and Mrs. Juanita Clendeninn, RN. Peggy’s three sisters each died a year apart in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Peggy loved to travel, and had traveled to Japan, Hong Kong, Kowloon, Taiwan, Hawaii and many trips to the Caribbean.
Peggy worked at the headquarters of The Presbyterian Church for 42 years. She started as a typist and worked her way up to administrative assistant in the office for Professional Development.
Peggy made a host of friends around the world. She called herself a “people person.”
She has five nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
God has blessed her with many friends and with a loving family.
Peggy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered at Sunrise at Ivey Ridge Assisted Living, Alpharetta, GA where she resided the last six years of her life.
