Ken was born in Alta Vista,Virginia on May 12, 1943. He was the son of Charles A. Huffman and Frances Gaddy Lukens.
He graduated from E.C. Glass High School and went on to earn a Degree in Political Science from Virginia Tech in 1965. Ken served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was the recipient of multiple awards and medals, including the Bronze Star.
Ken was a man of strong faith and had unconditional love for his family and friends. He was a long-time and prominent member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Norcross, GA. He was actively involved in all of his grandchildren's lives and was a devoted husband and father.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan Steedley Huffman; mother Frances Lukens; daughter Taeja Michele Huffman; stepsons Zachary and Travis Henderson, brothers Donald Huffman, David Viar, and Dave Lukens; sisters Leah Viar, Cynthia Schoen, and Vivian Hudson.
In addition he is survived by his beloved grandchildren - Ashlyn Bryant, Jackson Bryant, Isaac Henderson, and Lenneth Henderson. He is predeceased by his sister, Mary Alice Huffman Coussolos of Virginia and his stepfather, William P. Lukens of Lynchburg.
A memorial service will be held in Lynchburg, VA at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 3:00PM.
