With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Felicia Simone McCrary, whose spirit departed from this world on Thursday, November 14, 2024, leaving behind a beautifully lived life full of love, laughter, and resilience and a legacy of warmth and kindness. Felicia touched the lives of all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
Felicia was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 7, 1973. Felicia was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roswell, GA where; at an early age, she received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Felicia was a shining light in our lives and will forever be remembered for her kindness, her compassion and her sense of humor.
Felicia was educated in the Cobb County school system and graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA with honors in 1991. After high school, Felicia attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1995. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Felicia continued her graduate studies at Wake Forest University and received a Master of Arts in Education degree in 1996.
Felicia began her career in Education in Upper Learning at The Galloway School in Atlanta, GA in 1998. During her 26 years at Galloway, Felicia advanced to higher levels and was recently promoted to Upper Learning Principal. She touched the lives of many of the Galloway students and their families. She was a dynamic instructor and advisor who a lot of the students wanted to be in one of “Ms. McCrary’s” classes. Under Felicia’s leadership, groups of students traveled abroad every year to study other cultures. She loved the students, and they loved her. She always made herself available for the students and their parents. Felicia was truly committed to the Galloway Community.
Felicia touched so many lives with her warm and gentle strength and her unforgettable grace. She brought immeasurable joy into our lives with her kind heart, her amazing sense of humor, friendship and her unwavering faith. She was a true beacon of light that will shine in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. There are many who called her FRIEND. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, the warmth of her hugs, her kind heart, her joyful laughter and lightheartedness, her sense of humor, her encouraging words and her love for her family, friends and God.
To commemorate Felicia’s incredible life lived and the love she spread, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Zion Missionary Baptist Church located at 888 Zion Circle, Roswell, GA 30376. Interment will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
Friends and family and all who knew her are invited to join us in remembering Felicia. She was truly a remarkable woman who will be missed.
