Father Elias Abi-Sarkis

Between 1975 and 2019, Father Abi-Sarkis served many US Maronite parishes as their administrator or assistant pastor (Akron, Cleveland, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Tulsa, and Norman). Father Abi-Sarkis served on the Presbyteral Council of the Catholic Diocese of Tulsa and on the Committee for the dialogue between Catholics and Muslims. He was a member of the College of Consultors and serving as Protopresbyter for the Southern Region in the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles. He was Director of Caritas Lebanon-USA and a member of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher.

Father Elias enjoyed socializing with his friends, visiting his nephews and nieces, and appreciated pilgrimage traveling. He spent much of his time working with charities to help the sick, the poor, and the needy.

Father Abi-Sarkis was preceded in death by his parents Habib and Victoria Abi-Sarkis, his two older brothers Joseph and Toufic Abi-Sarkis, and his younger sister Mary Abi-Sarkis. He is survived by his brother Louis Abi-Sarkis, his sister Therese Havel, and his nephews and nieces.
