On August 25, 2013, Eleanor Bailey Watson the daughter of Carey and Lucille Bailey passed away at 8:00 am on a beautiful Sunday morning. She is survived by her husband Dorsey Watson and her two children, Laurie Bardar and Mike Watson, Andy Bardar, Laurie's husband and Tiffany Watson the wife of Mike, her grandchildren Crystal Anderson, Taylor Bardar and great grandson Anthony Borchetta, her brothers and sister, Herbert Bailey, Winston Bailey and Karen Bailey Walton; as well as many loving extended family and friends.
Eleanor was a graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School and was an outstanding student and basketball player. She graduated Berry College, where she was involved in many functions above and beyond the required activities. She played basketball, where her classmates gave her the nick-name Beetle Bailey. She was also a cheerleader. She was involved in many organizations involving athletic activities as well as being selected the Field Day Queen by the Varsity Club of Berry College in 1960.
Married in August 1961 she returned to Berry College with her husband to finish his senior year. After graduation, she lived with her parents and in-laws until Dorsey returned from his basic and technical training. Moving to Milledgeville, GA she worked at the Farmers and Merchants Bank and later Laurie and Mike were born. Later they moved to New England at the request of JP Stevens Company to relocate a distribution plant to South Carolina. Upon the completion of this project, Greensboro NC came calling by way of Texfi industries. Later Charles Brooks & Associates offered an industrial consulting position with the Celanese and Phillips Fibers Corporation.
Later the family moved to Atlanta and purchased a photography company thus going into business for themselves, a lifelong dream. Instafoto Atlanta became her 2nd home where she had a gift of making children smile for their portraits. Local area customers and families named her "THE PHOTO LADY", as she was lovingly known to all in Atlanta. In addition, Eleanor excelled in the day to day operations as well as the accounting duties for the company. She also became involved in the North Metro Georgia Tech Club as Treasure and served in this capacity for several years. Eleanor's greatest service was to Lebanon Baptist Church and the Church's nursery. She loved being around children and taking care of them, the greatest tribute to her life.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Brown, Sonny Chaffin, Drew Hearn, Greg Johnson, Randy Kent, Buddy Martin, Charles Moore, Len Phillipps, Ted Poolus, Larry Sprayberry, George Voegtlin and Bob White.
