Charles "Chuck" McElroy

Chuck was born on June 29th, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX to parents Robert and Joyce McElroy. He spent much of his early life just outside St. Louis, MO where he attended Parkway Central High School He then attended the University of Missouri where he received a degree in Industrial Engineering and later received his MBA at Washington University in St. Louis. While living in St. Louis he became a member of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and met his wife of 42 years, Lori (Wood) McElroy.

Chuck put Christ first in all aspects of his life. He was an active member of his church, Mt. Pisgah Church, where he sang in the choir and led discipleship groups. Chuck was a man of strong faith and strived to be an example of how Jesus loved and lived. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and was a role model to many.

Chuck served his community as President of the United Cerebral Palsy board in St. Louis. In Georgia he served on the board of Rahab's Rope, Summit Counseling Center, and served with Narrowgate Ministries

Chuck will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His kind and gentle spirit, his infectious personality, and his unwavering faith will be remembered always. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith that will continue to inspire all those who knew him

Chuck spent his career in the telecommunications and cable industries, starting at Southwestern Bell in St. Louis, MO and later San Antonio, TX. His career brought his family to Atlanta, GA in 1994 where he worked for Cox Communications and Charter Communications.

His career eventually led them to Taipei, Taiwan where he served as the CEO of China Network Services.

In his free time, Chuck enjoyed playing golf as well as bridge and was an avid fan of all sports.

He loved spending time outdoors, whether it be going for a hike, camping with friends, or spending time at the lake. Chuck also played guitar and would regularly play in bands or lead worship. He was always searching for a laugh and loved to play practical jokes.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Lori McElroy, his brother, Robert McElroy, three children: Matt and his wife Sarah, Luke and his wife Tricia, and Jenna and her husband Evan, as well as five grandchildren to whom he was known as "Pa": Graham, Tyler, Piper, Daniel, and Madison.

Chuck was a dedicated family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones, whether it was playing board games or simply enjoying each other's company.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at 2pm at Mt. Pisgah Church to celebrate Chuck's life and to honor his memory, a reception will follow the service.
